What are we learning? Last Week: Students will create a digital magazines of choice: TIME magazine, National Geographic or Rolling Stones. Each magazine will focus on an individual who significantly contributed to the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). Students will learn principles of Graphic Design, Print layouts and Basics of Publishing. Final Magazine project must be submitted by Friday, August 30th by the end of class via Google Classroom. Students will spend the next few days presenting their Digital magazine in class.
This week: Contributor to S.T.E.A.M. Leonardo Da Vinci. Students will learn about the origins and purpose for the Bridge of the Golden Horn. Utilizing the Engineering processes, students will design a blueprint for a bridge that is temporary, collapsable, transportable and weight bearing. Students will then construct their bridge utilizing pencils and rubber bands.
Next Week: Contributor to S.T.E.A.M. Leonardo Da Vinci the earliest futurist. Students will explore the remarkable inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci including Ornithopter, Parachute, Aerial Screw, Armored Car, Scuba Gear, Revolving Bridge, and the Self Propelled - Cart.
